So I need my reader's opinion on color scheme/bridesmaid dresses! I really want to go with a traditional black. I always think you can't go wrong with black and black goes with every color. BUT, thinking since it's a summer wedding, that maybe I should go with another color so guess what my second pick is???? Dark gray, or charcoal/pewter. That is as crazy as I am getting thus far. So what do you think about dark gray/charcoal with a light pink, light yellow, light blue for flowers and all that jazz? The problem is, most websites show a platinum silver, which is not what I am talking about. I've attached a pic. Let me know your thoughts!

Traffic Oh Traffic
I should not be complaining right now because traffic in Des Moines is NOTHING like traffic in Chicago. BUT I just don't understand it. Why must we be driving 5 mph because there was a wreck on the OTHER side of the Interstate? Why? Because you nosy *ucks (I mean "wonderful" people) have to try and see what happened? What are you going to do? Maybe I am guilty of looking....sometimes, but at least I have the audacity to continue driving my current speed at the same time! j/k ;-)
On a much brighter note, I see David tonight! David is my hair guy and he is awesome. I can't wait for him to cover some of this gray hair up! Do work son!

Weekend Recap
Brian and I are in the Big Brother Big Sister program and we share a little brother. I guess we are what you call a "Big Duo"...but anyway, Saturday we took our little brother Markus and Jackson (my friend Sheila's son) to the I-Cubs game. We had an extra free ticket to the game since they came in a 4 pack, so it worked out that Jackson and Markus are close in age. BUT, let me tell you-taking a 9 and a 10 year old to the game is VERY challenging! What one doesn't think of, the other one does! They were so busy having fun with each other, that they forgot to listen to us! haha. Anyway, we somehow survived and did have a good time. We also went to a mini bbq at our friend Baldus' house for a bit since we hadn't seen them in awhile.
Sunday we had Brian's family reunion and then went to visit our friends Rustin and Libby who had a baby a few weeks ago. See below. He is soo adorable! The picture is blurry so you can't really see his cute little face but let me tell you he is a little angel! It was so nice to meet and snuggle him, and to catch up with his parents! Hope to see them again soon!

How on earth do you pick a place?
So this week we looked at two possible reception locations, and have lots of information from other places. How on earth does anyone make such a big decision-this early in the game? I like the hotel idea because your guests do not have to drive anywhere and the hotel does so much for you. I want the least amount of stress as possible! I like the golf course idea because alot of the golf courses are just plain beautiful.
I really liked the place we looked at last night! It is really pretty and will be able to do some of the ideas I have. I feel like that's the one, but how do you know for sure?! What if we change our minds in a few months! Eek.

Daily Pajamas
I was reading "In Style" last night and a new trend caught my eye....Daily Pajamas. See pic below.
Since college, I have dreamed about being able to wear my pajamas to a party, dinner, etc. Don't get me wrong, I wear my pajamas to the grocery store from time to time. But in college, at least once a week, I would stroll into class wearing my pajamas and no one would look at me like I'm from Mars. Now, "In Style'" is telling me that it is fasionably acceptable and encouraged to wear my pajamas? Why am I not jumping on this bandwagon? Why am I not appreciative of this current new trend? I just can't see myself wearing THOSE pajamas in public. Yuck. *My apologies to any readers that happen to have one of the pictured pj's below*

Lotta Action
HI! The time has finally come for me to start a blog! I love reading blogs and I feel like over the course of the year, I am going to have alot to talk about and things I want to share. I also think it will be a nice way to keep track of what the heck is happening in my life.
Sooo alot has happened this year-I turned 30 AND I got engaged-two things that I thought never would happen! Or at least that is what I thought at one time! Being 30 is not so bad thus far. My 20's were full of great times and I am really looking forward to the next 10 years.
I got engaged last Thursday! I was not expecting it. I had been at the gym and got home to a dark house with a path of candles leading to the kitchen table with a note saying "please just sit down and read this". Brian had a book made of all the things that he loves about me or us. Each page had something different and a really cute picture to go along with it. On the last page he talked about what marriage means to him and what he hopes will mean to us, and then he popped the question! And I said YES! And I will be sure to show Brian that book everytime he is mad at me, or if I am going over the wedding budget! ;-) So now the planning begins....
